The Origins of the Name.....
My second eldest has thick, cottony, highly textured hair that I adore. The same could not always be said for her. Surrounded by South American classmates with thick, long, bone straight hair she came home one day ready for a full on lament session.
"I want MY hair to hang down, down, down!" she said, indicating her ears, her shoulders, her waist. "Why doesn't my hair go down?"
I held her in my arms and told her how beautiful her hair was, that God was her stylist and thus, it was divinely designed that her hair grew towards heaven.
"It's reaching up, up, UP!" I said stretching my arms towards the sky. "Your hair is reaching towards the clouds, towards heaven, towards God."
With these simple words, I planted a seed of self-acceptance in my daughter and her God-given texture.
And now, whether your hair jumps at the sun (like hers) or rests softly across your shoulders (like the tresses of my eldest), I've dipped into the best that nature, God's Garden, has to offer in my product line.
