It's an imperfect pondering, this. A bit amorphous and still vapor.
Yet, can't you too hear it's gentle, "Choo-choo" at times? Perhaps as you catch the evening news or watch stoopside as it unveils itself in front of your wary eyes.
With new conductors and a "what's old is new" destination: the Underground Railroad is back. Unlike its predecessor, you won't need to gather your things and hoot like an owl to catch a ride.
Oh, no!
There won't be time for planning. You'll likely only have time to call for Mama before you're swooped onto the ride FOR your life.
It's a ride you want to miss and if you're not speaking up for yourself, your family, and whichever community you identify with, then it's very likely to pass you by. This Choo-choo seeks heat!
Harriet has been bound and her system commandeered. There's a new staff in place and the direction is freedom's antithesis. The staff (of various hues...some might SHOCK you) are multi-tasking at a maddening pace. I'll be back with an update.
Humans make plans and the Creator laughs. Well, I'm the source of side-splitting stitches. And I must say, I have to smile at myself. The first month-long cleanse in January was so darn easy! It just flowed. I enjoyed myself. This time around I'm woman enough to admit: THIS IS A CHALLENGE!!
First of all, lemons are sky high where I am. At least, in my opinion, .75 per lemon is pretty darn pricey. When one considers how many lemons are needed to sustain one through a month of modified and pure Master Cleanse...well, you do the math.
The salad part was a breeze but I found myself drifting from the lemonade and instead using tea and water. The lemonade has been sorely missed.
Long and short, I've decided to continue on with the Modified phase for a bit longer and end the month with the pure cleanse thus using the beginning of September to phase out of the MC. Well, I've decided to try.
I've been reading some amazing literature: Vernon God Little (recommended by Don Cheadle in O mag) and Walter Mosley's This Year You Write Your Novel. Of course I recommend both to readers and the last to the writers out there.
I've been sans internet access for several days and this has provided lots of reclaimed reading time. Staying off of my favorite online communities has also given me a corner of my life back. I still have the product line on hiatus and that too has provided lots of time to just BE. The braiding business has been a little harder to get away from. :) I must say though, it is nice to come home and not have the pressure of mixing, packaging, labeling, packing, printing, etc. that comes with havhing an online business. A few people have been a bit miffed with my decision...which I found a bit strange. To thine own self be true. I like to create and distribute from a certain spirit and, of course, my three precious daughters and their needs come first.
I have lots of subjects running through this dome. I've much to write.
Three days down and several more to go. So far...wonderful. No headaches today. I brought my salad to work again and, as during Day 2, I almost shed a tear at that first bite. I forgot the chopped garlic and had exhausted my grape tomato supply, but I was so lost in the enjoyment...
My energy was up though I did sag a bit around 1. That's the usual. At break I bought some Kombucha tea. Why? I don't know. I just like seeing how good stuff effects me when my stomach is open to receive. Usually I can down a bottle in a snap but today I found it made me slightly nauseous. I also bought a bag of locally grown yellow root. I don't quite know what it is, but the owner said it was good for everything. It basically looks like a bunch of twigs with yellow innards. Some of my research tonight indicates a relationship with goldenseal. I'm toying with the idea of brewing it and drinking it over the next few days while I still have to salad buffer. If you see me clinging to the side of a speeding train, look into the yellow root.
I also had some tea from Mighty Leaf to keep hydrated since I didn't bring my lemonade with me. Took my Herb Tablets as well just to keep things interesting. In the health food store, I overhead one of the employees speaking on the phone about red clover. I want point I heard her laugh and say that parasites were invisible and someone has her worked up over nothing. Hmmm.....
I had a small salad in the evening: parsley, arugala, mashed avocado, green onion, green and yellow pepper, etc. The usual dressing. I feel stuffed.
I'll wake up early in the morning and do my first SWF prior to the demands of the day.
